Privacy, in plain words.

This site collects as little as it can, keeps it on a server I control, and never sells or shares it. Here is exactly what that means.

What this site collects

When you ask for a free resource or join the book list, the form asks for your first name and your email address. The form also records which page you came from (for example, the page for one of the five day plans) and, if a link carried one, a short source code so I know where readers are finding these pages. That is the whole list. No phone number, no address, no payment details, no social logins.

The speaking and podcast inquiry form asks for your name, email, the event, and your message, so I can answer you.

What I do with it

I send you the resource you asked for, by a download link on the page and by email. After that you will hear from me occasionally with a true story from the road and, when the book releases, a note about that. Every email carries a one click unsubscribe link. Use it any time and you will not hear from me again.

I do not run ads, I do not build advertising profiles, and I do not track whether you opened an email or clicked a link. Those features are switched off on purpose.

Where it lives and who touches it

Your name and email are stored in the database of this website, which runs on managed hosting from Kinsta, and in a mailing list tool called FluentCRM that runs on this same server. Nothing is stored in a third party marketing platform.

Three companies help this site work and see only what they need to do their job. Kinsta hosts the site. Cloudflare provides the domain's DNS and the Turnstile spam check on the forms, which looks at your browser to tell people from bots and may set a cookie for that purpose. Postmark delivers the email I send; it sees the recipient address and the message, and I have its open and link tracking turned off. None of them are permitted to use your information for anything else.

What I will never do

Sell your information. Rent it. Trade it. Share it with another organization for their marketing. Add you to a list you did not ask for. If a company I use is ever acquired or changes its terms in a way that would break this promise, I will move.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking cookies for visitors. WordPress sets a cookie only if you log in, which readers do not. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a short lived cookie to complete its spam check. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom. To have your information deleted entirely, including the original form record, email hello@shawnwhitson.com and I will remove it within a few days and confirm when it is done. The same address works for any question about this policy.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted a form, email me and I will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the promise in the section called What I will never do does not.
